During 1974 she held her first solo exhibitions and has had more than 30 one-man exhibitions – locally as well as abroad. Isabel frequently exhibits in group exhibitions as well.

Le Roux’s paintings are in high demand at galleries and agents. Numerous corporate clients, financial institutions, private art collectors and art lovers invest in her paintings.   Anglo American, South African Airways, African Oxygen, SA Breweries, KLM Airways, Rand York, First National Bank, British Airways, PSG Financial Group is just a few of them. Isabel is well known for her Cape scenes and through the years her work has identified with the aspects that gives Cape Town, the landscape and sea-life around the Cape, its character.

During the early seventies she started painting District Six and later shifted her attention to other old Cape areas. Isabel finds great pleasure in making herself at home with her easel, paints or sketchbook in the Malay Quarter, the Flower market of Adderley Street, Hout Bay, Kalk Bay or the little fishing villages of the West Coast. Although she is well-known for her street and boat scenes it is the people themselves that are of more importance in her later work.

Isabel takes her paintings through her life’s journey which often includes experiences abroad such as time spent painting in Paris and the French Provence. Other countries that influenced her were Morocco, Spain and Portugal. These visits inspired exhibitions such as ‘A week in Provence’, ‘Life is a Market’, ‘Millennium 99’ and ‘Turning Point’ just to name a few.  Isabel is a very prolific artist and paints whatever interests her at a specific moment – whether it is landscape, still life, figurative work, boat or street scene. She paints life and love, and her paintings are very much in love with life. The mediums that she mostly uses are oils, acrylic, water colour, or mixed media.
