Liezl matriculated with full exemption from Die Kruin School of Arts in 1988.

Between 1989 and 1990 she enrolled at the University of Pretoria for Information Arts and re-enroll at RAU after successful completing her first two years. She then graduated at the university with a BA in Communications in 1991.

Between 1994 and 1996 she commenced with her career as a public relations officer for an insurance company and only painted part-time.   Liezl then decided to paint on a full time basis under guidance and training of her mother, Isabel Le Roux, in her studio from 1996 until 1999.

Since 1996 Liezl has barely been able to supply the high demand for her work which is very popular with art galleries and art agents alike, nationally as well as internationally.

Liezl paints a wide variety of topics such as, but not limited to, flower studies, landscapes and boat scenes. The majority of her work is done in an acrylic medium but she is also proficient in various other mediums.
