Mark Enslin (#4920)
Mark was already selling his work at the age of 15. In 1974 he obtained a Diploma in Graphic Design at the Johannesburg Technicon and he went on to lecture at the Technicon for seven years. In 1975, at age 23, he held his first solo exhibition. To date, Mark has had over 50 solo exhibitions as well as group exhibitions in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, California, Australia, Germany, Japan and England. His work are to be found in the collections of banking institutions, mining and pharmaceutical companies, hotel groups and the American and Romanian Embassies. In 1989, he designed a series of stamps for the Government of Venda. Commissions during 1993 and 1994 included a large painting for the Foundation for Research and Development, work for BMW and large piece for His Majesty, King Matswati V of Swaziland. Mark’s work has freshness, originality and versatility to it while maintaining a strong competence in drawing composition and painting technique.
